Steel Lattice is the most commonly used form of construction in the tower industry. Advantages include low weight and wind effect, yet with tremendous strength and reliability. This form also provides significant cost effectiveness relating to materials and required resources. Triangular and square cross section lattices are most common.
Normally, as a stayed mast, the structure will be constructed in parallel sided form. As a standing tower, the structures may be either parallel sided or taper sided over part or all of the length of the tower. An “Eiffelized Tower” is one that is said to be tapered exponentially in accordance with height, much like the famed Eiffel Tower.
